Janssen Sciences Ireland are to create 200 permanent jobs as part of a €300 million expansion of their plant in Ringaskiddy, Cork. The pharmaceutical giant expects to complete construction within two years. The facility in Ringaskiddy currently produces biomedicines for both the treatment of immune related diseases and new cancer treatments. “This expansion project is a significant vote of confidence in our team and one which will increase our manufacturing footprint very significantly, allowing us to continue to meet critical patient needs in the areas of multiple myeloma, rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease,” said Kyran Johnson, general manager of Janssen Supply Chain Ireland. Janssen is a top 10 company in global pharmaceutical sales and has 40,000 employees across five continents.
