Medtronic has established a six-month paid return-to-work programme for women who have taken a break from their engineering careers. The successful candidates will be based at its research and development department in Medtronic, Parkmore, Co Galway, where the focus is on putting the patient at the centre of meaningful innovation. Engineers are directly involved in the development of cutting-edge medical products for use in medical procedures to improve healthcare globally. Participants will be hired on fixed-term contracts, with the possibility of gaining full-time permanent contracts after six months. This professional engineering programme provides development, networking, and project opportunities for women to give them a well-rounded experience while transitioning back into engineering in the corporate workspace. You will be able to refresh your technical skills, participate in professional development and receive mentoring support from a member of the Medtronic team. Positions are in the R&D team and will include a variety of engineering roles within new product development at the company's Parkmore site. Who Medtronic is looking for: 1.) Dynamic team players and leaders who can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams 2.) Qualified to degree level 8 in engineering/science or related discipline 3.) Ideally you are experienced with medical device design procedures and programmes 4.) Strong interpersonal, leadership and team skills are desirable 5.) Excellent communicators and fluent in English, both in writing and speaking 6.) You must have been on a career break for a minimum of two years and have at least four years of previous professional work experience, excluding internships
