Engineers Ireland plays an active role in public policy, taking a leadership role nationally on issues related to engineering as well as sustainability, wellbeing and innovation. We hold regular meetings with policy makers, organise workshops and contribute to public consultations and Oireachtas Committees. Engineers Ireland publishes the Engineering Barometer of the profession in Ireland. This report includes information on engineering employment, perspectives and education. We examine the number of engineering students and graduates according to engineering discipline.

Each year, Engineers Ireland publishes The State of Ireland report, an independent assessment of Ireland’s infrastructure – available here. The report’s grades and recommendations are based on the findings of panels of expert engineers, drawn from the public and private sectors and academia.
