2026 highlights:

Graduate Engineer salary

Graduate engineers with 1-2 years experience typically receive €39,000 

Salary progression

​​​​Remuneration levels rise more-or-less consistently with experience and most engineers with more than 30 years of experience earn more than €112,000. Younger engineers reported strong increases in salary over the past year: 41% of engineers with 3-5 years’ experience received a raise of more than 10%.

Chartered Engineer salary

​​​​​A Chartered Engineer with 6-10 years’ experience typically receives: €64,000 salary; €5,000 annual bonus; 5% pension contribution.

Engineers Ireland subscription

​​​​​​About half of survey respondents have their Engineers Ireland subscription paid by their employer (€291 for members without a Professional Title).

Value of professional titles

​​​​​​A Chartered Engineer can expect to earn approximately €10,000 on average more per year than an untitled engineer with the same number of years' experience.
