This on-demand webinar uncovers what is really changing in 2025 and what high-performing maintenance and operations teams are doing about it.
Let’s be honest, maintenance hasn’t always been seen as the most exciting part of an industrial transformation. But if our recent webinar with Verdantix is any indication, that perception is changing fast.
In 'From Insight to Action: What the Latest Research Says About Maintenance Trends', we brought together maintenance and operations professionals from across manufacturing, pharma, energy, and beyond to uncover what is really changing in 2025 and what high-performing teams are doing about it.

The big picture – why maintenance is under pressure?
Verdantix opened with highlights from itsr latest Global Corporate Survey. The takeaway? Expectations are high, and so are the challenges.
Firms are expected to maximise uptime, cut costs, comply with stricter regulations, and find efficiencies while often managing with less experienced workers.
No surprise, then, that 60% of firms surveyed expect to increase their investment in CMMS and other digital maintenance tools this year. What was surprising was the degree to which maintenance priorities are increasingly tied to these larger priorities, such as sustainability, workforce resilience, and operational agility.

The CMMS market is poised to grow significantly with 85% of firms increasing maintenance budgets and nearly 60% increasing investment in CMMS software.
“Our latest research shows that maintenance is no longer viewed in isolation – it’s now a critical lever for achieving broader business goals like sustainability, workforce resilience, and operational agility. With 60% of firms planning to increase investment in digital maintenance tools, it’s clear that organisations are recognising the strategic value of modern CMMS platforms.”

Making strategy a reality using CMMS
Next, PEMAC looked into how modern CMMS systems, specifically PEMAC ASSETS, are assisting teams in facing these challenges.
We introduced the Digital Maintenance Stack, which breaks down how layers of technology like mobile apps, IoT sensors, integrations and automated workflows sit on top of a CMMS platform and make maintenance more connected, responsive, and efficient.
What is important is what this tech practically solves. To name a few:
- Mobile access to job info and SOPs for frontline technicians;
- Automatic issuance of parts through Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS);
- Integration between maintenance and purchasing departments through ERP systems;
- Using data in a way to plan and reduce costly surprises.
It’s all about moving from firefighting to foresight.
Real stories, real impact
Kingspan, a global manufacturer of building materials, implemented PEMAC ASSETS in 20+ sites to bring consistency and visibility to their maintenance planning, and smarter management of that planning and resources, and pave the way for a digital foundation for future integrations.
In another example, a life sciences client integrated PEMAC ASSETS CMMS with an automated storage and retrieval system. This enabled maintenance teams to allocate parts from PEMAC ASSETS CMMS, cut out additional paperwork, avoid over-ordering and achieve compliance in a regulated environment.
We also shared the example of a Global Whiskey Distiller who reclaimed a full week of production time annually in the transition from traditional to structured digital planning, which resulted in saving more than 200 hours.
These examples underscore how CMMS isn’t just about keeping machines running, it’s about discovering real business value.
What the webinar attendees said
Live polls throughout the webinar confirmed what the data showed: attendees cited the skills gap, regulatory compliance, and the need for real-time insights as top concerns. These polls offered valuable perspective on where organisations are on their digital maintenance journeys and sparked the conversations about what’s possible next.
