Established in 1989, Unitronics has developed a wide range of highly versatile cost-effective HMIs and PLCs. The unique UniStream modular controller enables the client to select the HMI that suits their project, take a PLC CPU, choose the appropriate I/O cards for the application and create an effective, robust, secure platform. The HMI supports NEMA4X/IP66/IP65 when panel-mounted. It is now also possible to run video tutorials on your HMI and load up operations manuals and wiring diagrams as a standard feature. The HMI offers language support, includes Chinese and right-to-left languages. It is designed in accordance with the ISA 18.2 standard guidelines for the implementation, operation and management of alarm systems in the process industries. Intuitive to implement and easy to operate, the system includes a number of features that allow operators to detect alarms, analyse them and take action. These include the Alarm Banner, which alerts operators to alarms, the Alarm Summary table that enables managers to review active alarms and take action, and the Alarm Status Viewer HMI widget, which allows operators to view all alarms, check status, disable and shelve them, and enter comments via UniStream’s virtual keyboard. UniStream can export the Alarm Log via FTP, send it as an email attachment, or the operator may copy it directly from the controller via a DOK. Alarm features full multi-language support. Integrators can now display streaming video via an Ethernet networked camera using the RTSP Real Time Streaming Protocol, enabling users to easily integrate a network camera and display its video stream output on the elegant UniStream HMI panel. This functionality is being deployed for lone-worker safety and security and asset monitoring in remote locations. Pioneering engineers at Unitronics focus on PLC and HMI development, and have created the most versatile PLC and HMI platforms on the market today. In the automation industry, Unitronics are considered to be one of the most prolific disruptive innovators releasing functionality that leads the way while also remaining acutely aware of costs giving a price/performance profile that boosts its competitive advantage. This, together with the award-winning service provided by Unitronics and a network of over 140 distributors worldwide, provides the client with true global confidence. The PLC CPU supports up to 2048 inputs and outputs; these include digital and analogue IO with high resolution and high-speed options available. The I/O is designed to be space saving and easy to remove, replace and expand. The UniStream IEC 61131-3 compliant software is a powerful, intuitive, feature-rich programming environment that cuts programming time by up to 50 per cent. The Unitronics UniLogic™ software and utilities, including updates can be downloaded from the Unitronics website free of charge. Unitronics standard policy of customer care allows you to enjoy personalised technical support, as well as unlimited participation in Unitronics highly active, moderated tech support forum. The UniLogic software for the UniStream Platfrom enables users to code ladder, design HMI screens and web pages, configure hardware, set up and implement communications and more in a single programming environment. Unitronics commitment to reducing total cost of ownership has led to the development of the UniLogic software platform, which can reduce the engineering time by up to 50 per cent. That, coupled with no increase in the HMI and PLC hardware pricing in the past eight years (unlike many of its competitors who typically have 2-3 per cent increase year on year), makes the UniStream platform a very attractive proposition. In recent times, Irish Water has installed the UniStream PLC and HMIs in water and wastewater infrastructure as part of the progressive upgrades currently being undertaken to improve the quality of water and wastewater in Ireland. Irish Water has successfully worked with several contractors to integrate the UniStream platform to suit its specific requirement. In terms of communications, UniStream has it all: 25 years of experience has been invested into this range of equipment and it shows. Integration of third-party devices is incredibly fast and easy to configure and implement. UniStream data communications function independently of the ladder. A single PLC can contain multiple slave and also multiple master definitions. Unitronics' field-proven PLCs automate hundreds of thousands of installations in diverse fields: pharmaceutical, petrochemical, automotive, food processing, plastic and textile, energy and environment, water and wastewater management and sawmilling. Our clients globally include: Coca-Cola, General Motors, Michelin, Tupperware, Intel, Bayer, Colgate-Palmolive, Land Instruments, Mercedes, Agfa, Mylan, Abbott, Tyson Foods, Pirelli, Fiat, Samsonite,   Teva, Helsinn Birex and many more.
