Training aim

Provide an understanding of challenges associated with the design of small scale wastewater treatment and disposal systems

Learning objectives

The course is designed to demonstrate to engineers various challenges in small scale wastewater treatment design and wastewater disposal. The Engineer should, on completion, be aware of various solutions to control these challenges.

Course outline

The course will cover two topics relating to wastewater; namely, treatment and disposal. Wastewater treatment will concentrate on key design considerations and adapting the design to varying applications and challenges. Disposal will cover both groundwater and surface water discharges with emphases on legal requirements in relation to discharge licences.

Trainer's profile

Shane Fox joined Molloy Environmental Systems in 2009. Shane has been involved in numerous industrial, municipal and commercial wastewater treatments projects; and has adapted different technologies and solutions to combat the challenges encountered in these small scale projects.

Shane is also finalising a PhD on the topic of wastewater treatment.
