As Ireland continues to work towards a low-carbon future mechanical & electrical (M&E) engineer professionals must be increasingly focused on efficient, sustainable heating solutions. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is through an integrated heating system.

Leading heating technology manufacturer, Grant offers integrated heating package solutions which include four key components: a primary heat source, hot water storage, carefully selected heat emitters, and optional smart controls. These bespoke solutions bring together award-winning technologies that are tailored to the property’s unique layout and energy requirements.

Grant Aerona R290 4kW air source heat pump.

A key benefit for M&E professionals is Grant’s free heating design service, which includes heat loss calculations, full system sizing, product specification, and technical support. This approach saves valuable time during planning and ensures that every project benefits from a correctly designed heating solution.

Main heat source

At the heart of each package is the Grant Aerona R290 air-to-water heat pump, providing flexibility for everything from compact homes to larger commercial properties. This high-performance system uses natural refrigerant R290, which has an exceptionally low global warming potential (GWP) of just three.

The Aerona R290 has achieved A+++ ErP ratings throughout the range with SCOPs up to 4.88 and is capable of 75°C flow temperature; however, correct system design will ensure that a lower more efficient flow temperature is utilised.

The Aerona R290 is available in 4kW, 6.5kW, 9kW, 12kW, and 16kW models and has been designed specifically for the Irish and UK climate with the full range earning Quiet Mark accreditation for its ultra-low noise levels.

Hot water storage

The Grant Integrated Unit provides the hot water element of the package. Compact and pre-plumbed, it houses the cylinder and system controls in a single enclosure. It’s ideal for plant rooms or utility spaces in new builds. The integrated unit simplifies installation and optimises performance in line with modern building layouts.

Heat emitters

Grant’s integrated heating packages offer versatile heat emitter options to suit different requirements and design preferences. The Grant Uflex underfloor heating system delivers even heat distribution working efficiently at low temperatures as one option.

The second is Grant’s Afinia aluminium radiators that are lightweight and quick to heat up with a slimline design providing efficient warmth across different room sizes. Hybrid systems combining both emitters can also be specified, depending on the property design.

Smart controls

Completing the package is the Grant Aerona Smart Controller. Designed to work seamlessly with the Aerona R290, it provides advanced control features including weather compensation, load compensation, and heating curve adjustments. Its intuitive touchscreen and optional WiFi Hub give homeowners full control while also enabling remote monitoring and diagnostics for installers.

By providing a free design service, fully integrated packages, and ongoing technical support, Grant helps to remove uncertainty for M&E professionals.
