Managing road networks is becoming increasingly complex, with growing pressure on budgets, safety, and long-term asset performance. New approaches to data collection and analysis are now enabling councils and infrastructure owners to understand their networks in far greater detail and make more informed decisions about maintenance and investment.
Plan maintenance more efficiently
Gaist is a specialist technology company that collects high-resolution road and streetscape data, using AI and geospatial analysis to turn this information into actionable insights on road condition, safety, and roadside assets. By providing consistent, network-wide intelligence, Gaist helps highway authorities plan maintenance more efficiently, prioritise investment, and move beyond traditional survey methods.

Gaist is delighted to invite highway maintenance engineers and industry professionals to the Gaist Dublin Engagement Day, taking place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Louis Fitzgerald hotel, Dublin. This focused, interactive event is designed specifically for the Irish highways sector and offers a practical opportunity to explore how data-driven approaches are reshaping highway management.
Registration, tea, coffee, and pastries will be available from 9am, with the main sessions commencing at 10am. The day will begin with an introduction to Gaist and our experience supporting road authorities across the UK and Ireland, providing a clear overview of who we are, what we do, and how our approach differs from traditional highway surveys.
A key part of the morning programme will be a technical demonstration and Q&A session, showcasing how modern data capture and analysis can improve survey efficiency, enhance decision-making, and deliver value beyond standard carriageway condition assessments. Attendees will see how high-resolution data can support a more holistic understanding of the road environment.
Real-world project insights
The agenda also includes real-world project insights, including the Welsh 20mph Project, which demonstrates how network-wide data supported a national road speed transformation programme. Delegates will also have the opportunity to chat with colleagues from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to learn why they have partnered with Gaist and what they have gained from applying this approach within an Irish road authority context.

Following a networking lunch, the afternoon will explore value-added applications relevant to Ireland, such as Automated Streetworks Inspection, and how data-led processes can support safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective highway maintenance. The day will conclude with a facilitated roundtable discussion focused on Ireland-specific challenges, procurement considerations, and how the sector can collectively move forward.
This Engagement Day is designed as an open forum rather than a sales event, giving delegates the chance to exchange ideas with peers, ask detailed technical questions, and engage directly with Gaist’s technical specialists. Attendance is limited to 50 delegates to ensure high-quality discussion and networking.
