CPD opportunities – stay up to date with the latest requirements for pipe and ductwork insulation

With zero-emission building (ZEB) standards currently expected to become mandatory for all new public buildings from 2028 and all buildings from 2030, minimising operational demand from building services will be critical for compliance.

To support best practice in the design and installation of duct and pipework insulation, Kingspan Technical Insulation now offer a range of CPD seminars. These sessions include CIBSE and CPD Certification Service approved seminars and can be delivered over lunchtime at offices or virtually via Teams or Zoom.

A guide to thermal insulation and standards

This CIBSE and CPD Certification Service approved CPD provides an overview of the key HVAC pipework insulation standards including BS 5422:2023, Euroclass classifications (and associated testing) and the requirements around CE marking. It also looks at developing approaches for measuring the embodied carbon impact of insulation specifications.

Introduction to air ductwork

Gain a clearer understanding of the latest requirements for air ductwork systems with this CIBSE approved seminar. Alongside exploring key regulations and best practice guidance, this session also discusses pre-insulated ductwork systems and where these can provide advantages compared with traditional lagged sheet metal systems.

Heat networks – secondary insulation systems

Use of heat networks is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years with Ireland’s Climate Action plan setting a target for 2.7 TWh/year to be delivered via these networks by the end of the decade. This seminar explores emerging best practice around insulating secondary pipework connected to these systems including the CIBSE CP1 Code of Practice (2020) and the Technical Standard TS1 which is currently under development in the UK.

Introduction to fire protection

This CPD Certification Service approved CPD provides an overview of the key issues relating to fire protection and delves into how passive fire protection measures contribute to life safety and fire containment. The session should allow attendees to gain gaining practical knowledge of key passive fire protection components and systems.
