Ireland's leading energy event returns to the RDS on Wednesday, April 18, and Thursday, April 19, 2018. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) Energy Show features 150 exhibitors of sustainable energy technologies and services. The annual two-day free event is a must for those who want to network, learn, build business opportunities and experience the latest innovative technologies in the energy sector. Last year, more than 5,000 people attended the SEAI Energy Show and, according to exhibitors, more than €80 million worth of business was won at the 2017 show. “The Irish market for sustainable energy solutions is set to reach €3 billion by 2020 as homeowners, businesses and communities move towards cleaner energy," said Jim Gannon, CEO of SEAI. "The SEAI Energy Show offers a unique opportunity to learn about technologies and services in the sustainable energy sector that can help improve the energy efficiency of our buildings, and you can find out about renewable sources of energy. The SEAI Energy Show is well established in the Irish calendar and it continues to be a key networking energy event, bringing together buyers, suppliers and speakers to showcase the latest energy innovations.”

Free test drives available


Visitors will see everything from large-scale renewable energy solutions, to smart energy management systems and lighting technology innovations at the SEAI Energy Show. Free test drives will be available in the latest electric vehicles and best practice demonstrations will be given on building fabric solutions. Visitors will also be able to download a custom app for the SEAI Energy Show, to help facilitate networking opportunities. Attendees can link up with industry and professional associations, including Engineers Ireland, the Heat Pump Association, CIBSE and the Association of Plumbers and Heating Contractors. Representatives from a host of worldwide embassies will be available to meet with Irish companies to discuss business opportunities in countries including Argentina, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Romania. Of particular interest to engineers include:
  • A session on the requirements for Nearly Zero Energy Buildings and Major Renovations within the building sector which will inform designers and contractors of the impact of the new regulations.
  • A session presenting SEAI’s Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) Funding Programme. This session is aimed at anyone interested in progressing business innovation and market development with grant funding. The talk will outline what supports are available and showcase a number of innovative projects that have previously received funding support.
  • A session on Ireland Offshore Energy Opportunities. A number of speakers, from policymakers to European influencers and project developers, will discuss opportunities and technologies to harness our significant wind, wave and tidal resources.
  • A session on the changing trends in Ireland’s energy use and supply and Ireland’s recent progress towards its renewable energy targets. The session also aims to engage the audience to think about big ideas to address Ireland’s goals to reduce carbon emissions.
