ESB are delighted to announce the launch of our 2019 Graduate Development Programme. Each year, the company select around 80 graduates to join their programme. Over the last three years, ESB has recruited more than 200 of the best and brightest of Ireland's graduates to join our business as future leaders and technical experts. Applications for the graduate programme open on September 13 and close on October 24, 2018. There are opportunities across a broad range of disciplines including engineering, business, IT, finance, marketing and human resources. Through the excellent training & development programme offered by ESB I have availed of an exceptional amount of professional training. My buddy showed me around and introduced me to other members of staff.  My mentor has been with me from day one and has guided me through the entire programme and helped me through any problem I had along the way. In just three years I have received the most varied experience possible. I have worked on more than 13 dams across Ireland, seven wind farm projects, two gas power stations in the up and a biomass power plant in London. I am currently working on a £1.4 billon power station project in the UK where I am helping design the civil engineering aspect of this 1,600MW power station. I helped develop and now successful runs ESB’s drone surveying dept. with two other colleagues which is revolutionising the way engineers capture and used data.” Kieran McGrath, civil and structural engineer

I was also attracted to the company’s social events such as the Cross Company Power Challenge, sponsored runs and tag rugby. There’s a really good variety between office and onsite works which keeps things interesting. No two days are the same and projects are countrywide, which is great as you get to visit different parts of Ireland which you otherwise wouldn’t get to see. Working on a new 1,800 MW CCGT power station was one of the best experiences of my life, it gave me the opportunity to experience a new and different culture and to work on a project I would never get a chance to work on in Ireland.” Ian Comerford, structural engineer
