Additive manufacturing or 3D printing is revolutionising the way we manufacture a wide range of components. The process of creating objects by printing layer by layer allows the design and production of complex structures compared to traditional manufacturing methods.

Enabling industries to respond to ever-changing markets, meet challenging customer demands and provide cutting edge engineering solutions. As with all new technologies without adequate training, users can struggle to harness its full potential.

Rapidly developing technology of additive manufacturing

Inspire3D have partnered with the Kildare Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) to provide training in the rapidly developing technology of additive manufacturing or 3D printing.

The two-day hands-on course, 3D Certified User Training, provides participants with the opportunity to develop their skillset and meet the demands of evolving manufacturing industries.

Currently 3D print is being utilised across a range of industries from medical device to manufacturing to product development, with Ireland strongly positioned as one of the leading adopters of the technology.

The course is aimed at those new to and experienced with the technology, covering everything required to operate, maintain, and get the most out of a 3D printer. Throughout the two days participants will perform a series of tasks and 3D print preparations for the UltiMaker S-Range of printers, industrial 3D printers with a presence in a wide range of industrial sectors in Ireland.

Fused Filament Fabrication

Participants upon completion of this course will be competent users of Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D print technology and be capable of identifying applications within a range of industrial sectors.

The skills developed will be highly transferable to a wide range of roles. Upon completion of the course participants receive a certificate of completion. The course is also a CPD registered course with Engineers Ireland so participants can also count the hours towards their annual CPD requirements.

Courses are scheduled to take place in both the Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Celbridge as well as Marine House Wicklow Town throughout 2024. This course is Fully Funded through the Skills to Advance Training Initiative for those in employment.
