As investment in Ireland’s electricity infrastructure accelerates, KTL’s Power Division continues to expand its capabilities, workforce and project portfolio, helping to deliver the resilient networks required to support the country’s energy transition.
Ireland’s electricity network is entering a period of unprecedented transformation. The drive towards renewable energy integration, increased electrification and enhanced network resilience is creating significant demand for engineering expertise and infrastructure delivery across the country.

Key delivery partner for electricity network operators
Against this backdrop, KTL’s Power Division has continued its growth trajectory, strengthening its position as a key delivery partner for electricity network operators in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Building on long-standing partnerships with ESB Networks and NIE Networks, the division has expanded its operational footprint while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and performance.
During the first quarter of 2026 alone, KTL Power worked across 305 sites, completed 206 internal audits and recorded more than 1,000 safety observations as part of its commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence. The division also delivered 32 LVMV follow-on projects, replaced 1,265 poles and installed 21 kilometres of conductor across the network.
Bernard Downey, general manager of KTL Power Division, said: "The scale of investment currently taking place across Ireland’s electricity network presents significant opportunities for KTL. Our continued growth reflects both the increasing demand for resilient infrastructure and the dedication of our teams who deliver critical projects safely and efficiently every day."
Network resilience programmes
Alongside project delivery, KTL has continued to invest heavily in network resilience programmes, including vegetation management, timber surveying, transmission works and winter preparedness initiatives designed to reduce the impact of severe weather events on overhead line infrastructure.
The division is also advancing a range of high-voltage and design projects that support grid strengthening and network modernisation, helping prepare the electricity system for future demand and renewable energy integration.
A key element of KTL’s growth strategy is investment in people. The division has launched international recruitment initiatives and continues to expand its workforce across engineering, construction and operational disciplines.
Chloe Healy, HR business partner for KTL Power Division, said: "As the sector grows, so too does the need for skilled professionals. We are focused on creating opportunities for engineers, apprentices and experienced utility specialists who want to contribute to projects that are shaping Ireland’s energy future. Continuous development, training and career progression remain central to our approach."
Looking ahead, KTL’s priorities include supporting grid modernisation programmes, expanding regional delivery capabilities, increasing digital integration and continuing to develop the next generation of talent.
For individuals seeking to work on some of Ireland’s most important infrastructure projects, the opportunities have never been greater.
