The diploma sits at UK Level 7, comparable to NFQ Level 9, carrying 60 ECTS credits. It is recognised by Engineers Ireland, ICE, and IStructE, and is funded under Springboard+, bringing the contribution fee to €650, with free places available for eligible DSP recipients.
Delivery is entirely online, supported by an induction day and up to five interactive Saturday sessions across the year, with one-to-one tutor access Monday to Friday. It is built for engineers who are already working full-time and do not want to put a career on hold to study.

Indicative salaries in Ireland range from roughly €55K–€75K for Senior Civil/Structural Engineers, €60K–€85K for Sustainability/ESG Managers, and €80K–€110K+ for Technical Director and Project Director roles, though this varies by sector and seniority.
A stepping stone, not a ceiling
For engineers considering further academic study down the line, the diploma's 60 ECTS credits at Level 9 also serve as a direct pathway into a full Master's degree, should that be the next step.
Who should apply
The programme is aimed at practising civil and structural engineers holding a BEng (minimum 2:2) or BSc (minimum 2:1) in Civil Engineering, though professional membership of ICE or IStructE is also accepted in place of a degree. It's a strong fit for anyone targeting senior, associate, or director-level roles, working on projects with net-zero or ESG requirements, or building toward Chartered Engineer status.
One practical note for applicants: the course's lab work requires a Windows machine with 16GB RAM, 500GB storage, and full admin rights — Macs aren't suitable for the technical requirements of this particular programme.
