The CPD Team of Engineers Ireland has introduced a new course on 'Fundamentals of Sustainability for the Built Environment' to their suite of technical programmes. This event will be carried out in partnership with the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) on Monday, February 27, via Zoom.

There is rising pressure on construction companies to decrease their environmental impact. Climate change and biodiversity loss are two of the key challenges of this century. In order to find sustainable solutions for constructing our built environment, building professionals need to understand the core concepts.

Attendees will be introduced to the key subject areas relating to sustainability including climate change, energy efficiency, resource use, circularity, nature and biodiversity, health and wellbeing, and climate adaptation.

This course will be of high interest and value to building professionals such as engineers, architects, and surveyors, looking to develop a sustainability lens in which to view their work and identify key actions.

For those interested in attaining further details about the course, such as learning outcomes and objectives, an overview can be found on the Engineers Ireland website.
