SE Systems, Ireland’s largest independent provider of energy solutions, has today announced it will create up to 150 jobs over the next two years as part of a growth strategy that will see annual turnover increase from €50m to €100m by 2030.  

The expansion comes as demand from homeowners, communities and businesses for solar and energy retrofit schemes continues to soar.

The announcement of 150 jobs by SE Systems was made by EU commissioner Michael McGrath, who officially opened its new office HQ, an A-rated 15,000-sq-ft building, in Dublin Hill, Cork. 

Meet growing demand for energy efficiency, decarbonisation and energy management services

The €3m investment in the office forms part of SE System’s wider national growth strategy, which also includes the planned expansion of the company's Dublin office and the development of strategic partnerships across Ireland to meet growing demand for energy efficiency, decarbonisation and energy management services. They also plan to expand regional hubs across Clare, Donegal and Louth.

Founded in 2010, SE Systems works with homeowners, businesses and public sector organisations to support and implement their energy efficiency plans, including handling grant applications for solar and heat pump installation, and wider energy efficiency. SE Systems currently employs 112 staff and is supported by a network of 300 specialist subcontractors. 

The company has retrofitted almost 15,000 homes and 2,000 commercial buildings since 2010. Among the commercial partners it has worked with are Tesco, ESB Smart Energy Services, Stryker and Johnson & Johnson.

Of the 150 jobs created, SE Systems plans to recruit across a broad range of disciplines, including engineering, project management, energy services, software and digital technologies, operations, technical support and business development, creating opportunities for both experienced professionals and those entering the workforce.

It also plans to invest further in workforce development by expanding training and career opportunities in partnership with educational institutions, apprenticeship providers and industry. Initiatives will include apprenticeships, graduate recruitment, professional development and upskilling programmes, alongside new career pathways in engineering, energy management and digital technologies.

'Developing the next generation of energy professionals'

SE Systems also works with homeowners, communities, and businesses to access retrofitting grants as part of a ‘one-stop-shop’ service, reducing the administrative burden for its clients and helping them to reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and achieve sustainability goals.

It has unlocked nearly €1bn in energy-saving grants for customers over the last 16 years and processes around €100m in commercial and community energy grants for customers annually. From SE Systems projects, more than 1.6 billion kWh of energy has been saved, and 358,000 tonnes of CO2 have been saved since 2010.
