Huawei has launched its 2023 Seeds for the Future programme.

Students will complete 15 hours of live courses and take part in Huawei’s TECH4GOOD global competition – which challenges participants to examine how to leverage technology to address pressing social and environmental issues.

If successful in TECH4GOOD, Huawei will provide one of the winning teams with $100,000 and coaching from a professional team to help them commercially realise their startup plan.

They may also have the opportunity to visit global industry conferences representing Ireland, and to visit Huawei HQ in Shenzhen, China. Team Ireland won the TECH4GOOD competition in 2022 and was invited to attend Huawei’s EU Talent Summit in Athens, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and a startup sprint camp in China, the 2023 winners could make it two-in-a-row for the Irish.

To apply for the programme, students should send their CV, a transcript of their academic records, and an essay of 400-600 words or a two- to three-minute motivation video reflecting their interests and why they should be chosen to take part, to: seedsireland@huawei.com.

Students can also find more information about the programme through the Seeds for the Future official website. The deadline for submissions is September 20.
