Inspire the next generation of engineers by becoming a STEPS Engineer Role Model!

STEPS are looking for engineers from all backgrounds, from students to retirees, to become Engineer Role Models and support students as they showcase their Young Engineers Award projects at the end of November.

The Young Engineers Award is a competition developed by STEPS for third and fourth class children across the island of Ireland. In its 9th year this year, the competition tasks students with identifying a problem within their local community and developing a project and prototype to address the issue.

As part of the competition, students are provided the optional opportunity to have an Engineer Role Model visit their school to observe presentations on their projects, as well as answer questions on their education and experience as an engineer.

The STEPS programme is accredited by Investing in Volunteers – considered the gold standard in volunteer best practice. STEPS recently became a four-time Achiever of the Investing in Volunteer standard, the only organisation in the Republic of Ireland to do so.

Throughout the programme, we provide engineers with all the resources and support to make the school visit experience as easy and impactful as possible. We will ensure your visit is carried out to the highest standard and is compliant with current child protection guidelines.
