STEPS Engineers Week, the annual campaign to inspire the next generation of engineers and excite students about the possibilities a career in engineering can offer, is set to take place nationwide from Saturday, February 27 – Friday, March 5, 2021.

The initiative, now entering its 15th year, is coordinated by Engineers Ireland's STEPS programme - funded by Science Foundation Ireland, the Department of Education and Skills and industry leaders Arup, ESB, Intel and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

Ireland’s largest celebration of engineering in the community

STEPS Engineers Week 2020 marked Ireland’s largest celebration of engineering in the community with more than 92,000 participants taking part in 980 activities nationwide.

From Shannon to Belfast and Dungloe to Enniscorthy, engineers from all over Ireland engaged with their  local communities to showcase their profession to primary and secondary students, highlighting the amazing ways engineers in Ireland are pushing the limits of creativity and ingenuity.

The STEPS programme team are now calling on engineering organisations, professionals and students to ‘Save the Date’ and participate in STEPS Engineers Week 2021 to create even more activities to inspire students in their locality to explore the limitless opportunities a career in the sector can offer.

Third-level institutions, Local Authorities, libraries and teachers are also encouraged to get involved and run their own classroom-based activities, quizzes and competitions.

Engineers Ireland STEPS team will empower and support  all activity organisers with planning and activity resources for STEPS Engineers Week 2021.
