Ripplecom, an Engineers Ireland CPD accredited employer and one of Ireland’s leading telecommunications companies, is creating 20 new jobs in Limerick as it invests €1.2 million in upgrading its core and backhaul networks. Hiring has started for the 20 the positions including roles in engineering, sales, marketing, and customer service. The new hires will bring Ripplecom’s workforce to 50 and they will be based at the company’s head office in Raheen Business Park. The expansion programme enables Ripplecom to offer a broader range of technology solutions to business customers on a nationwide basis including large urban locations. The solutions include broadband, voice, cyber security and customer-specific IT services. Ripplecom’s core network, powered by Juniper technology, now enables the provision of services across multiple, cross-connected world-class data centres, thus ensuring ‘always-on’ resilient connections to the internet. All major backhaul links have also been upgraded to provide significant additional capacity for future traffic growth. The technology platforms used to support the solutions has been enhanced to include fibre, e-fibre and copper-based infrastructure in tandem with the more traditional wireless infrastructure operated by the company. “This investment underpins Ripplecom’s commitment to provide quality product offerings to the SME marketspace. Our enhanced core and backhaul network enables Ripplecom to connect customers throughout the 26 counties. Leveraging this new capacity, Ripplecom now has unparalleled reach and can service more business locations than most other service providers in Ireland,” said the company’s chief technology officer Denis Herlihy. John McDonnell, managing director of Ripplecom, revealed that the company is moving into larger offices in Raheen Business Park Limerick to facilitate the increased business activity. “Our unrivalled network reach is delivering the entire suite of Ripplecom cloud-based services to a new business audience across the country.  Providing optimal connectivity, telephony, and security solutions to multi-site organisations and standalone operations at an affordable price is key to our success,” said McDonnell.
