The Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI) Leadership Course has been designed for suitably qualified engineers and others working in the consulting engineering industry.  This course covers relevant aspects of business and project management in order to prepare participants for leadership and assist them in progression towards senior management. A major objective of the training provided is to meet the requirements for the ACEI Registered Professional Consulting Engineer (RConsEI) title which requires applicants to complete a recognised business related course. The complete ACEI Leadership Course comprises three full days of CPD which take place over five separate dates in Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2:

  • 9.00am – 5.30pm Saturday October 1, 2016; and,
  • 5.00pm – 8.30pm on Wednesday, October  5, 12, 19 and 26, 2016
The Wednesday evening lectures will be provided by video link to facilitate those working outside of Dublin. The course presenters come from a variety of backgrounds including consulting engineering firms, professional trainers, the insurance profession and academics.  Twelve qualified practitioners, expert in their respective fields, will present on relevant and important topics including:
  • introduction to consulting engineering management;
  • Government procurement;
  • conditions of engagement;
  • building positive client relationships;
  • people management and retention;
  • financial planning and management;
  • BIM and IT integration;
  • project management;
  • quality management, integrity and ethics;
  • sustainability in practice – meeting client needs;

  • strategic and innovative thinking ;
  • professional liability and PI insurance;
  • intrapreneurship; and,
  • business development.
