We wish to advise members that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2020 will take place on Tuesday 30 June.  While our AGM has traditionally been held in May, it has been agreed by our Council and Executive Board to re-schedule the meeting this year to the end of June. This is because of the current Covid-19 restrictions.  In moving the meeting out by one month, we are working to have as inclusive an AGM as possible, adhering to Government guidance at that time.  Our Bye-laws provide for our AGM to be held in May or June.

More detail about the AGM including the meeting agenda, will be provided to members next month.

The 2019 Annual Report of Engineers Ireland will be circulated by email to members and available on our website within the week of Monday 25 May.

In relation to our call to corporate members for nominations to fill four vacancies to Council for the term 2020-2023, nominations have been received from members who are also Chartered Engineers, seeking election to the two vacancies from holders of this professional title.  We thank these members for forwarding their nominations to us. Nominations for this category are now closed.  The closing date however, is being extended until 5pm, on Friday 29 May only for nominations from members who are either an Associate Engineer or an Engineering Technician, of which there are also two vacancies.

Therefore if you are an Associate Engineer or an Engineering Technician and are interested in contesting these two remaining vacancies, please download and complete both the Council nomination form and the accompanying biography form.

Your two completed forms must be sent by email to Aoife Ní Mhaoláin, animhaolain@engineersireland.ie

Once again, the extended closing date for nominations for these two remaining vacancies is 5pm on Friday 29 May.  If you have any questions, please contact Aoife at animhaolain@engineersireland.ie

Voting will commence to fill all four vacancies on Monday 15 June and will close on Monday 29 June.   The successful candidates who will be joining the Council for the 2020-2023 session will be announced at the AGM on Tuesday 30 June.

This is your opportunity to support the work of your membership body and your consideration of this opportunity is very much appreciated.  Election to our Council is for a maximum three-year period and elected members may not serve more than six consecutive years on Council. Council meet up to five times a year.
