eSentire to create 100 new tech jobs in Cork Canada-based cybersecurity firm eSentire plans to create 100 jobs over the next five years at its new European HQ and Security Operations Centre in Cork. eSentire, based in Ontario, combines people, process and technology to provide its flagship service Active Threat Protection to mid-sized enterprises with advanced cybersecurity capabilities. The company’s highly skilled Security Operations Centre analysts continuously detect and mitigate threats that traditional security technology can miss, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. eSentire has grown rapidly, more than tripling its size in the last three years. The company’s greatest challenge is finding talented security forensics analysts, software development and sales professionals to join its expanding team. “We evaluated several locations within Europe to expand our business and establish an EU base to better serve our clients on both sides of the ocean,” explained Mark McArdle, eSentire’s CTO. “We were extremely impressed with the technical talent in Cork and the ecosystem the government has helped to develop to fill the skills gap, specifically in the demanding and competitive field of cybersecurity.” Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said the company was attracted to Cork due to the pool of security talent available. “The creation of up to 100 new jobs offers a great opportunity for talented software engineering graduates to join a rapidly expanding IT security business, focused on tackling the increasing threat of cybercrime globally,” he said.
