Engineers Ireland member Colin Keogh, 28, has been named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list of Europe’s brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers. Keogh is a research engineer at UCD College of Engineering and Architecture and co-founder of the Rapid Foundation.
The listing features 300 young leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who are transforming areas including science, healthcare, business, technology, media and culture.
Currently an engineering PhD candidate, Keogh has long been interested in using low-cost disruptive technologies to help improve the world.
A PhD researcher at UCD, he co-founded The Rapid Foundation, alongside Dr Shane Keaveney, a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer, to put technology such as 3D printers and low-cost electronics in the hands of people who need it most in developing countries.

Other Irish game changers on the list included UCD student and LGBT activist Sam Blanckensee, MMA champion Conor McGregor, Stripe co-founders, brothers Patrick and John Collison, the co-founder of Foodcloud, Iseult Ward, and Patrick Carton, a designer with McLaren Automotive.
