Malwarebytes has chosen Cork as the site for its EMEA HQ, creating 50 new jobs over three years. The company, which protects people and businesses from next-generation cyber threats,  was founded in 2008 by Marcin Kleczynski, with a view to tackling advanced online threats which consistently escape detection by traditional anti-virus tools. The proprietary and innovative software protects both consumers and businesses using intelligent heuristics and behaviour-based technologies which are specifically designed to counteract the latest, most advanced, online threats. With global headquarters in Silicon Valley, USA, the fast growing company has already been nominated as one of Forbes Magazine’s ‘America’s Most Promising Companies’ this year. Cork’s reputation as a leading location for technology companies had a major impact on the company choosing it as its European base. “With a talented workforce and established tech ecosystem, it gives Malwarebytes the opportunity to build a world-class team.  We are experiencing remarkable business growth and Cork will play a central role in our European expansion,” said Marcin Kleczynski, Malwarebytes founder and CEO. Anthony O’Mara, VP of sales, EMEA, said Malwarebytes, with its strong brand and established products, will provide an exciting employment opportunity for local talent. “Cork was a natural choice for the company and we look forward to using it as our base of operations moving forward,” O’Mara concluded.
