Michael McGrath TD officially opened SimoTech’s new headquarters in Carrigaline, Co Cork, announcing the creation of 30 specialist engineering roles in automation, IT and validation. Speaking at the office opening, Michael McGrath TD said, “I am delighted to be here to support the launch of SimoTechs’s new offices and to announce that SimoTech have already begun recruiting for 30 new positions which will be filled over the next 2 years. SimoTech is a great example of the type of high tech growth potential for business in the area of science and engineering to support the ongoing expansion of the Biotechnology sector. SimoTech, which was founded by owner and Managing Director Pat Desmond in 2011, has already achieved an average growth of 70% year-on-year. “Our business has doubled in size each year for the past 4 years. We already employ 38 people and are currently recruiting another 30 engineers.” said Pat Desmond, Managing Director of SimoTech. “This expansion will allow us to continue providing engineering expertise to our existing global clients as well as growing our client base, both here in Ireland and abroad”. The opening of their new headquarters follows the exponential expansion of both SimoTech’s international client base and its growing workforce. SimoTech currently works with several global pharmaceutical/biotechnology clients, here in Ireland and in Europe.
