AGM of the Structures and Construction division – Tuesday 31, May at 6:00pm

Competence of Persons operating HV Apparatus Issues Paper – Wednesday, 1 June 2022 at 12:00pm  

Join the Electrical division for this free webinar which will outline the division’s recently published Competence of Persons controlling, operating and working on HV Apparatus issues paper. This paper was developed in response to the rapid expansion of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and demand infrastructure requiring a considerable increase in the number and diversity of organisations and persons working with electricity and in particular High Voltage (HV) electricity.  

Padraig Plunkett from the Working Group established by the Electrical division, will outline their research to identify issues, highlight potential risks to Irish energy sector relevant authorities and to generally raise awareness and knowledge on the subject. AGM of the Project Management society – Wednesday, 1 June 2022 at 6:00pm

Members are invited to the AGM of the Project Management society. In this online meeting the Chairperson of the society will present their review of the year, a new committee will be elected and planes for the coming year discussed. New members are always welcome!

Smart Grid Technology underpinning Sustainable and Secure Energy in Europe – Thursday, 2 June from 5:30pm 

This hybrid event, hosted by NUIG and supported by Engineers Ireland West region, will feature presentations from international and Irish experts who will outline how diverse enabling technologies and resources can facilitate smart grid adoption, such as Hardware in the Loop Validation and Certification for Large Infrastructures, Semantic Interoperability and the Cybersecurity requirements.  

NUIG scholars will also present the latest advances on EU funded projects, Gencomm and STEPS regarding hydrogen energy and storage technologies, key to ensure effective renewable energy generation and orchestration.  Public sector (NUIG) and policy roadmap (SEAI) representatives will also provide their perspectives given the impact of the current energy crisis and the regulatory challenges ahead. Engineers Ireland Annual General Meeting - Thursday, 2 June 2022 at 6:30pm

Engineers Ireland’s 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place at 6:30pm on Thursday, 2 June 2022. Members may attend the AGM in-person at our headquarters at 22 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, or online via Zoom.  All members who wish to attend the AGM, whether in-person or online, are encouraged to register their attendance. Refreshments will also be served in Café Clyde following the event.
