maxon is inviting engineers to Drive Technology Insight 2026, the advanced technical forum designed to elevate expertise in DC drive systems. The free-to-attend event is taking place Wednesday, May 20, 9am to 3.30pm at the British Motor Museum, Warwickshire, and will feature educational tech talks that deal with real-world drive system challenges, alongside one-to-one engineering discussions.
Integrate DC and brushless DC drive systems and motion control within application designs
Drive Technology Insight 2026: Innovations in Precision Motion, is aimed at engineers who integrate DC and brushless DC drive systems and motion control within their application designs. Suited to all levels of engineering experience, the technical talks will educate and improve knowledge in drive system design, integration, and use.
The event will also include dedicated one-to-one engineering discussions where visiting engineers can present drive system questions and challenges to maxon’s technical experts. More than 10 maxon engineers from across the UK, Ireland, and Europe will attend the event to host the engineering sessions. Visitors can pre-book appointments to guarantee their time slot with a maxon technical expert.
Drive Technology Insight’s tech talks will feature four, 45-minute educational sessions, each presented by a technical expert in the subject. Beginning with How do you pick the perfect drive?, this session will explain the key principles in selecting the right motor, gearbox and controller for optimal performance and efficiency.
The presentation Can motion systems survive anywhere? is aimed at application designers for harsh environments, covering drive system engineering for settings ranging from the deep sea to outer space.
During the talk Can data predict your next failure?, engineers will discover how predictive maintenance can enhance motion control by minimising downtime and enhancing reliability.
Actuator technology
Finally, Where is robotics headed next? will uncover the latest trends in robotics and present how actuator technology is shaping the future of automation.
Throughout the day, maxon’s engineering team will also display the latest drive system technology powering robotics, medical devices, industrial automation, and mobility solutions, giving visitors the chance for informal discussion around new motion solutions. The event also presents the opportunity for networking with fellow engineers attending from various sectors across the UK.
This is the fourth running of maxon’s Drive Technology Insight, with previous editions attracting a lot more than 100 visitor engineers on each occasion. Registrations for this year’s event are limited to 150 places, and engineers are advised to book as soon as possible.
Breakfast and lunch are provided, and following the event close at 3.30pm, visitors can also explore the British Motor Museum, the world's largest collection of historic British cars featuring more than 400 classic models.
