Engineering employers experienced particularly stong business growth in 2017: 83 per cent of them recruited engineers last year and there is an inadequate supply of engineering skills to meet their needs. Arup Consulting Engineers will host an event in their offices at One Albert Quay on Tuesday, June 26, at 5pm with the aim of introducing foreign engineers who would like to plan their career progression to job opportunities in Ireland.

Engineers Ireland says that, in 2017, 20 per cent of its new membership applications came from citizens of countries outside of Ireland and the UK. Countries represented included Brazil, Egypt, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Romania, India, South Africa, Iran and Pakistan. Foreign engineers bring a wealth of experience to Irish companies and for this event Engineers Ireland has assembled a suite of expert speakers to talk about the current engineering market and job opportunities in Ireland. This free workshop will enable engineering job seekers from abroad to enhance their profile, introduce them to Engineers Ireland, give them the benefits of membership, an understanding of the Irish market, advice on CV preparation and information on average engineering salaries.
