NSAI Irish Standard 820:2019 non-domestic gas installations (Edition 3)

The Irish Standard 820:2019 (Edition 3) has become an approved code of practice under the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work Act 2005. It is an update to the existing Code of Practice I.S. 820:2010 (Edition 2).

The Irish Standard 820 provides guidance and specifications for non-domestic gas installations including pipework to the point of delivery of the gas to appliances in non-domestic installations.

The main changes in I.S. 820:2019 include additional and revised guidance in relation to:

  1. outdoor/mobile catering and display units.
  2. safety inspections of existing installations.
  3. external and internal buried pipework.
  4. strength and soundness testing.
  5. pressure regulation and safety devices on LPG cylinder installations.

The I.S. 820:2019 was drafted by an NSAI Gas Technical Standards Committee.
