Output Sports has been named the official HYROX365 Athlete Testing and Benchmarking Partner, marking a significant step forward for performance-driven training with the launch of the HYROX Conditioning Test (HCT), a first-of-its-kind, fully standardised assessment built specifically for the demands of HYROX athletes, coaches and training environments.
Developed in close collaboration with HYROX365, the official training, education and performance ecosystem launched by HYROX to support athletes and gyms outside of competition, the 34-minute test introduces a structured, repeatable way to measure the physical qualities that matter most on race day, including aerobic capacity, muscular endurance and power.
Designed to run seamlessly in real-world gym settings, athletes complete the test in rolling heats, making it scalable for facilities of all sizes while maintaining consistency across every session.
Clear, objective measure
Results are captured within the Output Sports platform to generate a HYROX Conditioning Score, a clear, objective measure that enables coaches to seamlessly benchmark performance, track progress over time and make sharper, data-informed training decisions. In an ecosystem that has grown rapidly but lacked standardised testing, this delivers a whole new level of clarity and accountability to everyday training.

As HYROX participation continues to expand globally, with more gyms building dedicated training programmes around the sport, the need for structured performance measurement has become increasingly clear. Until now, coaches have relied largely on race results or fragmented metrics to assess progress. The HYROX Conditioning Test changes this by embedding objective benchmarking directly into the training environment, turning regular sessions into meaningful performance checkpoints.
The partnership sees Output Sports supporting the development of testing frameworks tailored specifically to the HYROX365 ecosystem, bringing proven sports science methodologies typically reserved for elite teams into the hands of everyday coaches and athletes.
Since launching in 2020, Output Sports has worked with organisations across the NFL, MLB and Premier League and is now applying that same level of rigour to support one of the fastest-growing fitness sports in the world.
For Output Sports founder, Martin O’Reilly, the launch represents a defining moment for the company and a realisation of its original vision. He said: “Output Sports started in 2020 with a clear mission to make elite-level sports science simple and scalable.
"Bringing the same scientific processes used by our elite sports clients into the HYROX community is an incredible milestone.” Early product testing has already been demonstrating real-world impact, he said, with data showing that improving an athlete’s HYROX Conditioning Score by a mere point can translate to roughly 90 seconds faster on race day, underlining the potential for the system to directly influence performance outcomes.
Output Sports, a spin-out of University College Dublin (UCD), is headquartered at NovaUCD in Dublin.
From the HYROX perspective, chief growth officer Douglas Gremmen described the partnership as a natural next step in the evolution of HYROX365: “We’re thrilled to partner with Output Sports on the HYROX Conditioning Test, furthering our mission of bringing elite-level training into everyday environments.”
With a global network of more than 15,000 affiliated gyms and 75,000 coaches, he notes that the collaboration enables the community to introduce a new level of structure and data into their training programmes, making performance-driven training more accessible than ever.
Practical framework to benchmark athletes
The HYROX Conditioning Test gives coaches and trainers working within gyms a practical framework to benchmark athletes, track measurable improvements, identify strengths and weaknesses, and structure training with far greater precision. More importantly, it creates a shared standard across the HYROX community. This is something that has not previously existed at scale.
This launch represents a significant step in the evolution of HYROX training, as the sport continues to mature and coaches look to combine data, structured programming and race-specific preparation into a more complete performance system.
The HYROX Conditioning Test is now available to verified HYROX coaches and training gyms via the HYROX365 Performance Hub.
Output Sports will be showcasing the product to official HYROX coaches at the UK's inaugural, HYROX Coaches Summit taking place on March 27-28 at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, London.
