Sanofi has been awarded the much sought after CPD Accredited Employer Standard by Engineers Ireland in recognition of its continuing professional development (CPD) strategy atits Waterford site.

The Waterford operation of the global biopharmaceutical company has grown rapidly since being established in 2001 and now employs more than 700 staff who supply a range of therapies – many for the treatment of rare diseases – to patients in more than 100 countries.

State-of-the-art infrastructure and technology

More than €600 million has been invested in state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology at the Waterford plant on the Old Kilmeaden Road in recent years with diversification continuing to bring new products, delivery platforms and career opportunities to the southeast.

Caroline Spillane, director general of Engineers Ireland, said: “I wish to congratulate Sanofi Waterford for their dedication to professional development and achieving CPD Accredited Employer status.
