Training aim

An unbiased overview of the machine learning landscape, from the introductory building blocks to more state-of-the-art approaches, with an overall lean towards uses in the manufacturing domain.

Learning objectives

Learn the most important steps and implementation concepts for the realization of machine learning projects. Participants will be introduced to the practical implementation of machine learning algorithms through use-case examples in the machine learning programming language Python.

Course outline

Delivery: Live Instructor led MS Teams/Zoom based workshops.

Duration: 9:00 - 3:30pm

Learning platform: MS Teams or Zoom.

Learning methodology: Real world activities by topic, group discussion & best practice lectures.

Learning transfer: SME presentation, inter active Q&A, Scenario based quiz and reinforcement.

Trainer's profile

Dr Brian O’Halloran

Dr Brian O'Halloran is a Senior Analytics Researcher at IMR. Prior to this, he was a lead data scientist at a number of commercial entities in domains such as news, financial services and recruitment in the UK and Ireland. By training, he was an astrophysicist, with a PhD from UCD, and plus postdoc experience in the USA and the UK.
