Training aim
For candidates to receive a thorough grounding in AutoCAD, enabling them to produce and plot 2D drawings so they can excel in their fields.
Learning objectives
The course takes participants through the basics of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT, to a point where candidates are competent using its commands and tools. It is designed to provide a thorough grounding of the software so they can create new drawings, edit existing drawing and prepare drawings for accurate plotting, helping them to excel in their field.

Session 1: Getting Started with AutoCAD, Display Commands, Drawing Setup, Session 2: Coordinates and Basic Drafting Tools, Creating/Editing 2D Geometry, Session 3: Managing Objective Properties, Creating Text and Defining Styles, Introduction to Dimensions, Session 4: Page Setup and Layouts, Creating Blocks, Hatching Session 5: Publishing & Collaboration

Course duration
10 hours broken into 4 days with a 2.5-hour session per day (online) OR 2 full days (in person)
Assessment & certification
Symetri is an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre. At the end of the course the candidates will receive their Autodesk Certificate of Completion. Candidates may proceed to the AutoCAD Intermediate course. There is the option to go on to complete the AutoCAD Autodesk Certified User and/or the AutoCAD Autodesk Certified Professional Exams.
Who should attend
This course is designed for the new user who needs to know the essential commands necessary for professional 2D drawing, design, and drafting using AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT. No previous computer aided design (CAD) experience is required.
