Organisation profile

Unilin Insulation is an Irish manufacturer committed to supporting the construction industry in the delivery of Low and Zero Carbon buildings.

From design stage to the delivery of ‘A’ rated buildings, the construction professional can rely on the expertise and support of the Unilin Insulation team. It is through the interaction between manufacturers, designers, engineers, builders and energy assessors that together we can formulate strategies to ‘Close the Gap’ between design and actual performance on site.

Training aim

An introduction of Tapered insulation Systems and Cut-to-Fall design scheme that provide designers with a precise, technically excellent solution to achieve thermal insulation and bespoke drainage.

Learning objectives

  • Roof failures: consequences of ponding, and how creating a fall in flat roofs avoids damage
  • How those falls might be created
  • How Cut-to-fall (Tapered) Insulation systems are designed and supplied in components to create a drainage system
  •  Introductiing the XtraFall System
  • What tapered design service entails, and the components included in such schemes
  • Compatibility of insulation and various waterproofing systems
  • A Critical Component: competency in U-value/condensation risk analysis

Course outline
