EJ design and manufacture an extensive range of access solutions in galvanised steel, stainless steel, aluminium, ductile iron and composite in our world class production facilities, certified to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems. Our products are used on water, sewer, drainage, telecommunications and utility networks worldwide.We are based in Birr, Co Offaly and employ 40 people in sales, distribution and fabrication.
Training aim
Its aim is to educate Consultant Engineers, Local Authorities on Product Standards related to road furniture, correct product selection, specification and installation materials.
Learning objectives
The objective of the presentation is that participants will gain an understanding of the relevant standards – EN124& IS261pertaining to Manhole covers, Drainage gratings and Waterworks covers in Ireland.
You will also gain an insight into the next generation harmonised EN124 standard due to be implemented in 2016.
You will be capable of selecting the most suitable product for the area of installation and be in a position to recognise non conforming product on projects you are working on.

The presentation will highlight: Ironwork issues and product failures - dangers and cost to clients.
• The standards EN124, IS261, BS5834, CE marking.
• Product Selection for National /Secondary roads, Residential areas, Schools etc.
• Guideline on correct specification for Ductile iron products and Fabricated Steel products.
• New technology - new designs to minimise road maintenace cost for clients.
• Product range - brief overview of ergonomic features , anti theft access solutions.
