This course seeks to provide an insight and guidance into the PWCs as they look today.
This is a practical course that emphasises those areas that cause the most difficulty in Construction:
• Contract documentation and schedules (choice of risk allocation)
• Role and Responsibility of the Employer, Employer’s Representative and Contractor Programme and the way the contract controls time
• Compensation Events – Notification, Application and Evaluation - and Clause 10 procedures
• Completion and Extensions of Time
• Dispute Resolution
The Public Works Contracts have been in use for over 10 years now, yet the same problems with administration and change management continue to exist. The PWCs constitute a considerable section of works within the construction and engineering industry and this course addresses the construction phase of the work. Obligations, risks and administration will be central to the course. Examples are used to illustrate contract interpretation.
