Our ‘Global Engineers’ series of information seminars target professionals who have recently moved to Ireland after qualifying overseas or are considering a move to the country.

Our most recent event was held on 19 October and focused on Education in Ireland for Brazilian engineers. Over 130 attendees joined this event in person and online, where they gained insight on how to become a member of Engineers Ireland and invest in further education in Ireland.

During the presentation, two Brazilian engineers, Dr. Erivelton Nepomuceno, Electrical Engineer and Assistant Professor at Maynooth University, and Camila D' Bastiani, Chemical Engineer and PhD student at Technological University Dublin, highlighted their professional experiences within the engineering sector and the cultural and educational differences between Ireland and Brazil.

Recordings from this and previous events can all be viewed on Engineers Ireland’s YouTube Channel.

Our next seminar will focus on Croatian engineers and will take place on Monday, 28 November at 5:30pm at Engineers Ireland headquarters and also online. Croatian engineers will give advice on developing engineering careers in Ireland and share their own experiences. For those attending in person, it will be an excellent networking opportunity. If you are interested in attending, please register here.

The last Global Engineers event of the year will take place on Monday, 12 December, at the Arup Cork office. This dedicated hybrid event will inform engineers worldwide about how to progress in the engineering profession in Ireland. International engineers will share their experiences and the positive impact that engineers from overseas are bringing to Ireland. You can register here.

Members and their organisations are encouraged to participate in these events to support our international engineering community. If you would like to collaborate with us for our Global Engineers series in 2023, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please email membership@engineersireland.ie
