Anthropic, the AI safety and research company, today announced plans to significantly expand its Dublin presence, increasing its office space six-fold to 21,000 square feet in a new central Dublin location to accommodate an additional 200 employees in engineering, sales, finance, legal and compliance, and operations.
The expansion is a response to strong enterprise demand in Europe. Anthropic's EMEA revenue has grown 11x year-on-year, driven by enterprises, digital-native businesses and startups that are building with Claude. It also reflects Ireland's growing position as a hub for AI adoption. The IMF recently ranked Ireland first globally for skill readiness, while research from Trinity College Dublin found that enterprise AI adoption has nearly doubled in a single year.

Daniela Amodei, president and co-founder of Anthropic, said: "We’re expanding our Irish operations to meet strong enterprise demand across Europe. What we hear consistently from Europe's largest businesses is that they want AI they can trust – systems that are safe, reliable and built with their interests in mind. That's exactly what Anthropic exists to provide, and Dublin is the ideal base to deliver it. The talent here is exceptional, and we're proud to be deepening our commitment to Ireland at this pivotal moment for AI adoption in Europe."
Irish businesses and students are building with Claude
Irish businesses are already putting Claude to work. This includes Wayflyer, Tines and Manna using Claude to transform operations, from automating security processes and speeding up software development to scaling drone delivery across Ireland.
Claude is also capturing the imagination of Ireland’s students. Zerostrike, a startup founded by three Trinity College Dublin students and one Dublin City University alumnus, recently won first place at HackEurope, a major European coding competition, with an idea to prevent wildfires. Using Claude, they built a platform to predict where dry lightning is likely to strike and automatically deploys drones to seed rainfall before a fire can take hold – a glimpse of what Ireland's emerging talent is capable of.
In addition to businesses, Claude is now becoming increasingly popular with consumers and recently topped the free iPhone apps chart in Ireland.
Ireland’s rise as a global AI hub
The announcement follows the government's own Digital and AI 2030 Strategy, published weeks earlier, which set out Ireland's ambition to become a global hub for AI and build on the country’s exceptional tech talent base.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin said: “Anthropic’s major expansion in Ireland is a strong vote of confidence in our thriving technology ecosystem and our position as a global hub for AI innovation, supported by world-class research, a highly skilled workforce and a pro-innovation policy environment.
"Our recently launched 'Digital and AI Strategy, Digital Ireland – Connecting our People, Securing our Future', sets out the government’s strong ambition to ensure the economy reaps the benefits of digital and AI for growth and competitiveness, to enhance our public services, as well as to empower our people to thrive in a digital society.
As part of our presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026, Ireland will host an International AI Summit on Enabling AI to Power European Growth, opening European AI Innovation Month in partnership with the European Commission. This high-level gathering will showcase Ireland as a leader in AI innovation and adoption, while advancing Europe’s ambition to develop a responsible, competitive and innovative AI ecosystem. We look forward to further developing our partnership with Anthropic.”
IDA Ireland’s executive director Dónal Travers said: “Artificial intelligence has been identified as a key driver of investment growth within IDA Ireland’s strategy. At this pivotal moment for digital transformation, I am delighted that Anthropic is expanding its presence in Ireland with the creation of 200 new roles, as it scales its international operations. Its mission aligns closely with Ireland’s Digital and AI Strategy 2030, which sets out an ambition to strengthen our digital economy, enhance Ireland’s profile as a destination for investment, and grow the country’s reputation as a global hub for applied AI.”
Anthropic’s momentum behind its Irish expansion
The European momentum in enterprise and coding is part of a global story. Anthropic now has more than 300,000 enterprise customers, and eight of the Fortune 10 use Claude. Claude Code recently passed $2.5bn in run-rate revenue, a figure that has more than doubled since the beginning of 2026.
That momentum is backed by a $30bn Series G at a $380bn valuation, and run-rate revenue of $14bn that has grown over 10x annually for three consecutive years. Anthropic began 2026 with more than thirty product and feature launches, including Opus 4.6, its most capable model yet, and Cowork, which brings Claude's capabilities to knowledge workers across industries.
