In response to industry demand, DIT have relaunched their part-time degree programmes in Civil Engineering and are experiencing an increase in applications.  Students generally start on the Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering (Level 6) programme and can progress to the Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering (Level 7), both of which are offered on a part-time basis. The courses are aimed at those working in industry who wish to upskill either for personal development or to enhance project proposals for public sector work. The Level 6 programme in particular is aimed at personnel who may have great potential but have not had the opportunity to develop their formal qualifications. Part-time students need to combine work and study commitments and timetables are organised to facilitate both as much as possible. There are various entry routes to the Level 6 programme including formal qualifications or work experience in the field.  Many students who have been working in industry either as technicians or site personnel excel in this programme and have gone on to graduate with Honours Degrees in Civil and Structural Engineering. Closing date for applications is 25 August 2017.  For all enquiries, please contact caroline.odowd@dit.ie.
