The Irish Green Building Council will host its flagship conference, Build Green Now, on Thursday, May 15, at the Mansion House, Dublin.

Housing minister James Browne will officially open the event and launch IGBC’s new roadmap, 'Building a Circular Ireland'. The document outlines key steps to scale up reuse, bio-based materials, and circular construction practices across the Irish built environment.

Following the launch, leading national and international voices will discuss how to accelerate Ireland’s transition to a circular, resource-efficient construction sector.

  • Carolina Koronen, senior researcher at Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE), shaping EU policies to cut carbon emissions in buildings;
  • Carolina Montano Owen, technical lead at World Green Building Council, advancing circular and low-carbon building strategies;
  • Kai Liebetanz, head of nature and resources at UK Green Building Council, driving circularity and nature-led approaches in the built environment;
  • Ossian Smyth, former Green party TD and minister, key driver of Ireland’s Green Public Procurement and circular economy strategy.
