Fundamentals in Flood Risk Assessment

Details

1-day course

CPD Credit: 6.5 hours, C1

Course Aim

The course aims to provide an understanding of Flood Risk Assessments and how they are prepared in accordance with the Planning System and Flood Risk Management Guidelines.  The Guidelines introduce comprehensive mechanisms for the incorporation of flood risk identification into the planning process.  The course will provide a full description of the Guidelines and the process of preparing a Flood Risk Assessment to show compliance with the Guidelines.

Flood risk can be assessed at different scales, from the national, through regional and local to site-specific.  The course will describe the different scales but will concentrate specifically on Site Specific Flood Risk Assessments.
