The Heritage Society is a special interest group for Engineers Ireland members of all disciplines with an interest in Ireland’s engineering heritage.
 
The Society hosts CPD and networking events throughout the year, providing opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional engagement. These activities help members stay connected with the legacy of engineering in Ireland while fostering collaboration across the engineering community.
 
Some of the event previously held by the Heritage Society include:
- A joint site visit with the Thomond Region to the Ardnacrusha Power Station.
- The Society’s annual attendance at the Birr Engineering Festival.

Birr Engineering Festival

The Birr International STEAM Festival 2025 will take place from Thursday, 16 - Saturday 19 October and will provide an opportunity for engineering heritage enthusiasts to gather at one of the most interesting scientific locations on the island of Ireland.
