Why reinstate?

Career Development

"Membership and professional titles are important for career advancement."

In the increasingly competitive business environment, having a Registered Professional Title from Engineers Ireland differentiates you from competitors. Members this year have informed us that they have benefitted from higher rankings when including Chartered Engineers on project teams during tender processes. Meet with our membership team on a one to one to hear how you can prepare your application for Chartered Engineer.

Membership Open Days

“The Membership Open Day was of a huge benefit in getting my Chartered Application up and running.”

This stage in your career is an important time to align your experience with the registered title competency framework to ensure you are acquiring the necessary skills to achieve Chartered Engineer. Our Membership Team would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to advise you on how to focus your experience for the title at one of our open days or information evenings.

Advocacy

"Engineers Ireland is an excellent advocacy group for engineers. The organisation makes a wealth of knowledge and information available to members, organises very good talks, seminars and offers high quality training courses."

Members expressed satisfaction that Engineers Ireland engages with Government and policy makers to influence strategies relevant to the profession. In January, Minister Paschal Donohoe TD launched our Strategy 2017 – 2020 and more recently, T├ínaiste and Minister for Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald TD launched The State of Ireland 2017 – A Review of Infrastructure in Ireland report.  Engineers Ireland President Dr Kieran Feighan is also representing you at the National Planning Framework, Ireland 2040 discussions and this week we have presented to the Department of Finance, the Engineers Ireland Budget 2018 submission.

CPD

"I think it is extremely important to be up to date on all developments in your chosen field and this is the best way to do it. It also helps with ideas for further development so you don't become stagnant in your development."

Already this year, members have been offered over 80 CPD courses, across every discipline. You receive a discount on these courses and can select those most appropriate here. You can also relax in your own time and complete any of the free online courses for members.

The Engineers Journal

"Engineering journal is great for keeping up to date."

Every fortnight we email the Engineers Journal to members, packed with current and informative stories and case studies, sharing the knowledge and activities that are happening across the industry. It provides news and case studies across a variety of disciplines that are valued as a quality source of information.

Recognition

"Engineers Ireland Chartered Engineer & Fellow title are the true verification of an engineer's real competence."

Membership of Engineers Ireland has gained and upheld a prestigious standing in the field of international engineering education by being founding members of the International Engineering Alliance (Washington Accord) and were proud to achieve the renewal of our Washington Accord agreement in June on your behalf, allowing your continued recognition globally.

Networking

"Being involved with Engineers Ireland is a very effective way of meeting other engineers from other disciplines as well as getting the bigger picture of engineering as all projects are multi-disciplinary."

Our community provides the opportunity to network and knowledge share with peers, exposing you to the multi-disciplinary nature of the profession and the blend of skills and expertise that is increasingly required on complex projects.
