Join Engineers Ireland's community of creative professionals for the launch of World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development and the Engineering 2020 report on Wednesday, 4 March at 22 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development is a UNESCO international day to highlight the achievements of engineers and improve public understanding of how engineering is central to sustainable development. We are delighted that David Donoghue, former Permanent Representative of Ireland to the United Nations, will launch the event. Mr Donoghue co-facilitated the complex UN negotiations which led to agreement on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Engineers Ireland will mark the international day by hosting a panel discussion and by publishing our report Engineering 2020: A barometer of the profession in Ireland, which captures the latest trends in engineering employment and education and the contribution of the profession to the SDGs. The event will also include speakers from Intel, NASA, TU Dublin and NUI Galway.
Light refreshments will be served from 9.00am, with speeches commencing at 9.30am in our theatre. This half day event will conclude at approx. 12:30pm.
