Record My CPD

Engineers Ireland requires its members to undertake and record 35 hours of CPD activities each year, with the exception of student members and retired members.

CPD includes any learning activity that contributes to professional development and includes (but is not limited to) attending events, being involved in committees and volunteering; doing research and writing papers; giving and receiving mentoring; attending courses, seminars and conferences; and further education – e.g. degrees, diplomas, certificates.

What counts as CPD?

CPD includes a wide variety of learning activities, many of which are free. Ask yourself if the learning activity contributes to your professional development. If the answer is yes, then it counts as CPD. At Engineers Ireland, we have grouped CPD activities into the following six categories.
