Bricks 4 Kidz, the educational play concept, will be working with primary and secondary schools during Engineers Week 2018, which takes place from February 24 until March 2.
Teaching the principles of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) through LEGO® Technic, Bricks 4 Kidz will be delivering workshops to children across five locations: north and south Dublin; Co Wexford; Co Donegal; and Co Louth.
Fostering a love for engineering
It is estimated that these unique curriculum-based activities will be accessed by more than 8,000 children nationwide, thus fostering a love for engineering in children, from an early age.
The Bricks 4 Kidz proprietary model builds, which have all been designed by engineers, are accompanied by lesson plans which explain the concept of engineering to the children.
These age-appropriate workshops encourage children to estimate, observe, predict, measure and record their findings during the model construction, ultimately providing them with a memorable ‘hands on, minds on’ learning experience.
At the end of each workshop, Bricks 4 Kidz provide children with a take-home sheet for their parents, which recaps the lesson and references the new vocabulary acquired during the various activities.
