A fundamental grounding in business and finance is essential for all engineering professionals operating in today’s challenging business environment. The CIMA Certificate is ideal for those new to the world of finance, providing an understanding of the uses of accounting information in planning, controlling and decision making.
CIMA is the fastest-growing accounting body in Ireland, with over 8,500 members and students, and is represented across all major FDI companies in Ireland. As an internationally recognised qualification, CIMA has a substantial global footprint of over 208,000 members of students and provides a passport to international success.
What is CIMA offering?
The
CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (CBA) is on offer to all members of Engineers Ireland at a discount. It is the introduction to the CIMA professional qualification and is a recognised qualification in its own right. The syllabus is divided into five modules that are designed to provide you with a solid grounding in the different areas of accounting and how they relate practically to the business world.
The CBA is comprised of the following five individual study modules:
- (C01) fundamentals of management accounting;
- (C02) fundamentals of financial accounting;
- (C03) fundamentals of business mathematics;
- (C04) fundamentals of business economics;
- (C05) fundamentals of ethics, corporate governance and business law.
All Engineers Ireland members are exempt from the business mathematics module (C03). Members with additional relevant qualifications may also be eligible for more exemptions.
Special discount for Engineers Ireland members
Two options are available at the discounted rates outlined below. Exam fees are paid separately and cost GBP£53 per exam at Pearson Vue exam centres. The following two options are available to you:
