Rigney Dolphin has welcomed its first round of yellow belt graduates from the Lean Sigma Business offer supported by Enterprise Ireland. The graduates completed their training under the supervision of Ian Gourlay, Master Black Belt, and have been accredited by the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Lean business principles are helping companies across the globe to address competitiveness issues within their businesses by building the capability of their people to identify problems and improve operations. The programme is made up of three levels of support. Each level of support is characterised by increasing levels of capability in implementing Lean business principles and other best practice approaches to drive company awareness, adoption and integration of Lean tools and techniques. Companies that choose to avail of the Lean Business Offer with Enterprise Ireland can apply for grant support towards the cost of hiring a Lean consultant or trainer to undertake projects. The projects vary in terms of size and commitment depending on which level of support the business wishes to implement. Rigney Dolphin Founder Dr Frank Dolphin said that Lean business is not just for manufacturing companies to drive improvements and efficiencies in their business and adapts very well to the services and internationally traded sectors. The announcement of our graduates is a unique occasion and the first of its kind. "It is a demonstration of our progressive attitude towards providing quality service to our customers," Dolphin said. "It is also an example of development and wider application of engineering and the implementation of new skills into modern workforces and we look forward to bringing this training to all of our staff in the coming months and wish to acknowledge the support of Enterprise Ireland in the endeavour."
